Housing.com-ARAHAS contributes to NAKSHA to streamline land records across India
The NAKSHA program aims to create and update land records in 152 Urban Local Bodies across 26 states and three Union Territories.
ARAHAS has become a part of the National Geospatial Knowledge-Based Land Survey of Urban Habitations (NAKSHA)—an initiative launched by the government to modernize urban land records across India. This ambitious Rs 194-crore pilot program was inaugurated on February 18, 2025, by the union minister of rural development and agriculture and farmers’ welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in Raisen, Madhya Pradesh. It aims to create and update land records in 152 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) across 26 states and three Union Territories (UTs). The primary objective is to ensure accurate and reliable documentation of land ownership, thereby empowering citizens, enhancing urban planning and reducing land-related disputes.
